Woodville Plantation is a c.1775 plantation home built and owned by John Neville,
Neville was a Federal Tax Collector during the Whiskey Rebellion. The home
served as a fully functioning plantation during the occupation of the Nevilles. The
home was sold to the Cowan family in 1815, who made most of the changes to the
home. It passed, through marriage, to the Wrenshall then Faucet families. In 1975
the home came into the possession of the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks
Foundation and the Neville House Associates Inc. was formed to manage the day
to day operation of the house. The Neville House Associates, Inc. took over
ownership of the home in 2007. The home operates as a historic house museum
interpreting the history of the Whiskey Rebellion and early American life in
Woodville Plantation is seeking a Digital Media intern to rebuild our website and
assess our digital presence. The ideal candidate would have the ability to design a
new website using WordPress for the plantation as well as Wayne’s Legion, the
reenactment group associated with the site.

This is a 4-month program from December through March Madness for school credit (non-paid). Fan Media will train, develop and collaborate with interns as mobile video journalists for social news coverage this basketball season. This is for journalism, broadcast and digital media students from the 135 schools that have a channel in our app and on our web site.
Interns (correspondents) will provide 30-second iPhone videos covering their college basketball team on a weekly basis, including: news reporting, commentary, criticism, analysis, fan interviews, moments, trending stories and public opinion. Fan Media Network will provide a correspondent kit with best practices for production quality and editorial direction.
Students will learn mobile video journalism as social news in the field, get on-camera, cover high-profile sports news, build their mobile demo reel, have fun and strive to get into the News Feeds and Trending Stories of Facebook and Twitter as social news coverage. Videos can be shared from the app and web site into the News Feeds of Facebook and Twitter as well as Fan Media’s social brand pages.

It can be a season preview video or any of the ideas listed above. We will contact you in the app or web site from our Newsroom to set you up from there.

We’re currently seeking editorial, photography, and design interns. In three months, you’ll learn how to take a story from conception to production and develop a strong online portfolio.

Hop Culture is Pittsburgh-based online magazine covering craft beer. We like social and environmental justice and we’re interested in expanding the industry around quality, inclusivity, and stewardship of the earth. We publish three to five pieces of original content each week and engage with our audience through beer-related events and social media. In the near future, we plan to expand into beer and brewery-related mobile applications.
