Fan Media Digital Video Internship

This is a 4-month program from December through March Madness for school credit (non-paid). Fan Media will train, develop and collaborate with interns as mobile video journalists for social news coverage this basketball season. This is for journalism, broadcast and digital media students from the 135 schools that have a channel in our app and on our web site.

Interns (correspondents) will provide 30-second iPhone videos covering their college basketball team on a weekly basis, including: news reporting, commentary, criticism, analysis, fan interviews, moments, trending stories and public opinion. Fan Media Network will provide a correspondent kit with best practices for production quality and editorial direction.

Students will learn mobile video journalism as social news in the field, get on-camera, cover high-profile sports news, build their mobile demo reel, have fun and strive to get into the News Feeds and Trending Stories of Facebook and Twitter as social news coverage. Videos can be shared from the app and web site into the News Feeds of Facebook and Twitter as well as Fan Media’s social brand pages.

It can be a season preview video or any of the ideas listed above. We will contact you in the app or web site from our Newsroom to set you up from there.

WPXI-TV

WPXI-TV Pittsburgh is looking for multimedia savvy students interested in photography, videography, writing, editing, and shooting. Interns will learn how to produce content for WPXI’s digital platforms. You must be a junior or senior doing it for school credit to apply for the paid internship program. Marketing Communications Video Internship

Looking for a Summer 2013 internship and are interested in video? You’re in luck! The Marketing and Communications office of the University of Pittsburgh Division of Student Affairs is looking for video interns who will receive academic credit during the Summer 2013 semester.

Responsibilities of the video intern include:

  1. Operating camera, sound, and lighting equipment to film various campus functions
  2. Conducting on-camera interviews
  3. Writing video script
  4. Oversee video projects from pre to post production
  5. Use video editing software to finalize products

An ideal candidate for the video internship position will have proven video production and editing skills with experience in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or related software. Familiarity with Canon lenses and DSLRs, and Panasonic HVX, is preferred.

Candidates should be creative and able thrive in a fast-paced environment, work well individually and as a team member, have excellent attention to detail, handle constructive criticism, and able to meet deadlines.

The internship offers flexible hours on the weekends, evenings, as well as office hours.
