Clean Air Council of SW PA

The Clean Air Council of Southwestern PA is looking for interns! All interns will have the opportunity to learn about issues impacting western Pennsylvania’s environment; how to be a community organizer and build an advocacy base of operation; methods for recruiting and training volunteers; skills in developing relationships with a diverse populations; strategic planning; communications; partnering with other individuals and organizations; the ins and outs of non-profits; time management; how to find motivation and build power. The internships are non-paying positions and voluntary but interns will receive direct support and guidance in all aspects of community engagement.
Duties:
 Entering advocacy data into our database.
 One on One meetings with new advocates.
 Take a leadership role on a County Action Team.
 Responsible for creating, managing and the development of specific projects.
 Advancing social media skills of the SWPA office.
 Planning and strategy development.
 Teaching others the issues impacting pollution in SWPA.
 Conduct briefings with advocates.
 Research issues and organizations.
 Attend Board of Health, Township and Borough Supervisors meetings.
 Find venues for recruiting diverse advocates and making presentations, within
comfort zone and delivering presentations to groups on the environmental impact
of pollution.
 Managing social media.
 Possible canvassing.
 Taking charge of a specific project for the length of the inttership.

Bike Pittsburgh Internship

Bike Pittsburgh is currently seeking a Women’s Events Marketing Intern to join our team in spring 2018. This intern will develop blog posts and social media content related to women’s events such as coffee meetups, happy hours, and group rides.   • Closely monitoring media coverage and compiling reports
  • Compiling media lists and distributing news releases
  • Assisting with social media campaigns
  • Assist in production of events

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects on tight deadlines while maintaining top quality deliverables; ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment

2016 Summer Sports Development Department Internship

Description:

VisitPITTSBURGH is the official tourism promotion agency for Allegheny County. The 501(c)(6) non-profit, membership organization is dedicated to generating convention, trade show and leisure travel business for the Pittsburgh region. The Sports Marketing Intern assists SportsPITTSBURGH, the sports marketing division of VisitPITTSBURGH, and reports to the Sports Marketing Manager.

The Sports Marketing Intern provides experience with public relations, communications and event marketing.

Hours /Compensation: 35 hours/5 days, per week, preferred; $20 daily stipend

2016 Work Schedule: May 9 – September 2 (there is some flexibility with dates)

Responsibilities:
Public Relations/Communications

  • Develop and implement public relations plan for 2016 summer events
  • Activate and monitor social media plan for SportsPITTSBURGH
  • Update website content including calendar of events
  • Develop content for digital newsletter and blog

Event Marketing

  • Assist with client event planning and follow-up
  • Provide on-site assistance, as needed, at hosted events
  • Manage event specific projects, as assigned
  • Propose specific activities to engage client base

Requirements/ Skills:

  • Ability to develop creative social media and public relations campaigns
  • Detail oriented, organized, a self-starter and able to adhere to deadlines
  • Advanced communication and writing skills
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing and social media best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office
