Overview
Active Cities (activecities.us) is a free website that makes it easier for people to find active things to do in their city. The site features a growing network of directories that provide a full list of local sports, recreation, activities and things to do in various cities throughout the U.S. The vision of Active Cities is to become the nation’s largest, most comprehensive online directory for all things active.

We are seeking enthusiastic, self-driven individuals who will be dedicated to the growth,
development and overall mission of Active Cities. The Writing Internship comprises several core components, blog writing, keyword research/SEO, marketing and social media. Each team member will gain hands on experience implementing several forms of written content, as well as utilizing various tools and strategies for creating and managing online content. This internship also has an extended component in which select team members will be provided the opportunity to assume leadership and management duties for a second term. This is a virtual internship that provides candidates the opportunity to conduct their work remotely from any location. The position is part-time (approx. 10 hrs. per week), and is ideal for candidates who have the ability and desire to manage a flexible work schedule with no physical office. The internship is unpaid, but can be used to obtain educational credits or satisfy a degree requirement. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of a small business, as well as develop a broad range of skills that can apply to any professional work setting.

Responsibilities
– Attend weekly team meetings via Skype, provide project updates and contribute to group
discussions
– Brainstorm and submit ideas for blog content on weekly basis
– Produce written content that is consistent with, and promotes the mission of Active Cities
– Share and promote published content through various marketing tools and strategies
– Schedule social media posts on Facebook and Twitter accounts
– Participate in group discussions and decisions concerning the business as a whole
Qualifications
– Undergraduate students preferred

Looking for a highly motivated individual to become part of our Digital team as a Social Media Intern. Candidate will be actively involved in all daily aspects of managing and executing digital campaigns for agency clients.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating ability to effectively organize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Collaborate with the digital team to create relevant content for the different social media accounts we manage

Education/Experience

  • Basic knowledge of WordPress and Google Analytics also a plus

  Ronin is a full-service advertising agency with clients in a variety of industries, all across North America. As an Intern at Ronin, you will be given many responsibilities and opportunities to broaden your skill-set and expand your talents in the strategic marketing & advertising arena. As an Advertising Intern, you will work under Ronin’s Creative Strategist.  
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

List 3-5 Tasks the Intern is expected to accomplish and How the attainment of these tasks would be measured

 

  Interns will experience the advertising & marketing process first hand and learn about 1) client acquisition 2) brand strategy development, 3) integrated communications planning, and 4) a variety of forms of creative execution.

Activities for the Intern

  We believe in learning by doing – throughout the course of the internship, intern will work on mini-projects for clients of their choosing in order to understand specific skills (ie. target demographics vs. psychographics, competitive analysis, integrated communications planning, strategic positioning, etc.) Interns will also work on select research and/or strategy development projects for current agency clients.

The Big Client Project – Each semester Interns will select a hypothetical client of their choosing and create a 360 degree marketing plan & presentation for them, incorporating everything they have learned, from initial research through final creative execution.

 
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements: GPA, major, class rank, required classes, software and computer competency level, skills, driver’s license, reliable transportation, ability to pass a drug test, etc.

   

Strong writing and communication skills

Knowledge and interest in qualitative research

Self-motivation and responsibility

Creative problem-solving skills (or the desire to gain them)

Ability to think strategically about people and what drives their emotions & actions.

Interest in what makes someone brand loyal and consumers’ buying habits

Have a point of view! And the ability to communicate it effectively (or, at least, the desire to learn how to communicate it more effectively)

Intern should be willing and able to take ownership of a project and see it through to the end

 
COMPENSATION:
